Heat Press Instructions

Heat Press Instructions

At No1Perfect, we want every customer to achieve professional-quality results when applying our DTF transfers. Following the correct heat press settings and application process is essential for proper adhesion, durability, and long-lasting performance.

Please read and follow these instructions carefully before pressing your transfers.

Before You Begin

Important Requirements

Your heat press must:

✅ Provide firm, even pressure

✅ Maintain consistent temperature across the entire platen

✅ Reach and hold the recommended pressing temperature

Poor pressure or uneven heat can result in incomplete transfers, peeling, or reduced durability.

Recommended Heat Press Settings

Temperature

305°F – 315°F

Press Time

15 Seconds

Pressure

Very Firm Pressure

These settings are recommended for most cotton, polyester, and blended garments.

Step 1: Pre-Press The Garment

Before applying your transfer:

  • Place garment on heat press.

  • Press for 15 seconds.

This removes:

  • Moisture

  • Wrinkles

  • Fabric contaminants

Allow the garment to cool before applying the transfer.

Step 2: Position The Transfer

Place the transfer onto the garment:

White Side Down

Image Facing Up

Ensure the transfer is positioned correctly before pressing.

Double-check placement and alignment before closing the press.

Step 3: First Press

Apply the transfer using:

  • 305°F–315°F

  • 15 Seconds

  • Very Firm Pressure

Avoid opening the press early.

Proper pressure is critical for successful application.

Step 4: Cool & Peel

After pressing:

  • Remove garment from press.

  • Allow transfer to cool until warm.

Once cooled:

✅ Peel the film slowly and smoothly.

Do not rush the peeling process.

Step 5: Second Press (Highly Recommended)

For maximum durability and a professional finish:

Cover the design using one of the following:

  • Parchment Paper

  • Butcher Paper

  • Teflon Sheet

  • Tissue Paper

Press again for:

  • 15 Seconds

  • Firm Pressure

This step improves:

✔ Durability

✔ Wash Resistance

✔ Softness

✔ Finished Appearance

If The Transfer Does Not Fully Release

If portions of the image remain attached to the film:

Do Not Remove The Film Forcefully

Instead:

  1. Reposition the transfer.

  2. Press again.

  3. Allow it to cool.

  4. Peel once more.

Most transfer issues are caused by insufficient pressure or inconsistent heat.

Common Pressing Mistakes To Avoid

❌ Not Enough Pressure

DTF transfers require firm pressure.

Light pressure may cause:

  • Poor adhesion

  • Peeling

  • Incomplete transfer

❌ Incorrect Temperature

Temperatures below the recommended range may result in poor adhesion.

Excessive temperatures may damage the transfer or garment.

❌ Peeling Too Soon

Allow the transfer to cool until warm before peeling.

Peeling while too hot may affect transfer performance.

❌ Skipping The Second Press

The second press helps lock the transfer into the fabric and significantly improves durability.

We strongly recommend completing the second press.
